Summer 2017

Gabriel and I travelled to Switzerland on Thursday 17th August to climb the Barrhorn. We parted in Argentière, where I joined Tim Neill for ten days of mountaineering, after which I went to Geneva and spent a few days there and on day-trips with Paulo. He and I returned to the UK on Monday 4th September.

Barrhorn (3610 m), Saturday 19th
The normal route up the Barrhorn from the Turtmann hut is a walk, with no technical difficulty.

Aiguille Verte (4122 m), Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd
We climbed the Aiguille Verte via the Grands Montets ridge from the cable-car station with a bivouac at the Col du Nant Blanc, and descended via the Moine ridge to the Couvercle hut. (Tim's photos)
