Only these days were sunny; the rest of the time the sky was blank.

Visit to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, Friday 13th May
This is not the more usually visited section at Badaling. Richard Jones's colleague Xu kindly arranged the transport for this and the following expeditions.

Visit to the Summer Palace in Beijing, Friday evening 13th May
